B. Electronically Through Cookies and Other Means:
Cookies are small text files that are placed on the User’s computer’s hard drive. Essentially, cookies are identification cards for the WHA computers, or servers, that placed them there. Cookies are only read by the server that placed them there and are unable to execute any code or virus. The WHA may also monitor the packets of information that are sent to our Web server from the computers of Users that visit the Site. This information is automatically embedded in the communication packets that go back and forth between the two computers as a result of the standards that have been created for most computer networks. The information collected in this manner is generic information relating to the User’s software, Internet service provider, and the User’s interaction with the Site. Information that would identify the individual User is not collected in these packets of information. The types of information that are sent in these communications packets are the: (1) type of operating system ; (2) type of Web browser being used; (3) the Internet Protocal (IP) address of the computer while it is connected to the Site; (4) the region of the country; (5) the Internet service provider (ISP) being utilized by the user; (6) the time of day the User connects to the Site and the duration of the connection time; (7) the pages of the Site that the User visits; and (8) the search engines used to get to the Site and the words used in for the search request.
The use of cookies is considered industry standard. However, if your browser permits, you may choose to decline any cookies we use, but note this action may disable portions of our Site. If you want to opt-out of receiving some advertising cookies, you may be able to do so by visiting http://www.networkadvertising.org/optout_nonppii.asp.
